  • Simon Deutsch begins his pattern business company Deutsch Pattern Works with little more than a philosophy: Quality Service to Industry.

  • Deutsch Pattern Works is awarded a lucrative contract with the A.O. Smith Company and expands to 35 men. Production continues throughout the years and weathers the Great Depression.

  • With the need for a larger facility, and due to lots of space being available during Prohibition, Deutsch Pattern Works moves to a building within the Pabst Brewery complex.

  • Deutsch Pattern Works contributes to the national effort by manufacturing key components of The Hoover Dam.

  • During World War II, Deutsch Pattern Works manufactures large prototype components for the Sherman Tank.

  • Deutsch Pattern Works is honored with the Army-Navy "E" Award, an honor presented to companies during World War II for excellence in production of war equipment.

  • Simon's sons, Harry and Richard Deutsch, join the company and the company officially becomes "Deutsch & Sons”

  • Deutsch & Sons expands its facilities to transition from the receding pattern making industry to quality working prototypes.

  • After the passing of his father, Simon, and brother, Richard, Harry Deutsch becomes responsible for maintaining the high standards of Deutsch & Sons.
